Kathleen Campbell, Graduate Student
Welcome! You are so brave and I’m genuinely glad you’re here. Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, but together we’ll navigate the path with compassion and respect.
What to Expect
My experience lends itself to working with anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, neurodiversity, and life transitions. This means we’ll discover how your entire life influences your mental well-being, as well as help you learn new skills and harness your unique strengths to overcome obstacles.
I draw from a variety of therapy methods including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), intersectional feminism, and creative expression. Given my background as an artist, I have a deep passion for working with artists, creatives, and even those who just enjoy dabbling or crafting. I firmly believe that art and music are for everyone to enjoy.
You’re encouraged to bring your full, authentic self to our therapy sessions; after all, you know your life experience best. My approach is rooted in collaboration and honest, open communication. I’m here to provide a welcoming and supportive environment to discuss your concerns, as well as gently challenge you to foster your personal growth. I enjoy working with adolescents, teens, and adults. I love helping people work through anxiety, navigate relationships, discover joy, and get unstuck in their lives.
I affirm all LGBTQIA+ orientations, all gender identities and expressions, and am a member of the queer community. I’m well-versed in a diverse array of relationship structures ranging from monogamy to polyamory/non-monogamy and power exchanges. As a result, I'm attuned to and supportive of the many ways people navigate personal connections.
Experience and Education
With over 20 years of professional experience across diverse fields, I've engaged with people from a wide range of socioeconomic, personal, and cultural backgrounds. My career spans art, healthcare, teaching, farming, and owning my own photography business. I've also had the opportunity to work with people with a variety of psychological and/or physical disabilities.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from the University of Georgia and am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work from UGA with the intent to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The holistic approach that social work takes to therapy, which is that people are far more than just a medical diagnosis, is what ultimately led me to pursue becoming a therapist. My commitment lies in creating an affirming and inclusive environment where we explore how the depth and breadth of your life experiences impact your mental health.
